These days, Penny runs more that walks and going up and down the stairs is old hat:
The "yee-e-e-e-e" while running is pretty common too.
She now says "pee pee" when I change her and Dada thought her "poo poo" These may come in handy when potty training rolls around. She also says "Whoo whee" when I change a stinky diaper. That one she learned from me.
Penny says "Wow" and "Yeah!" She'll answer "ya" when asked a question, or sometimes "no" (sounds more like "nya"). Luckily she hasn't started over-using that word yet. She says "Hi-yee" and "Bye-ee" regularly, usually accompanied with a wave
She calls her friend Macin "Mimi":
Plus a "Yeah" and a "I'm done in my high chair, Mom".
Says "Ana" (daycare) when we are leaving the garage. She knows that's how we get to Ana's.
We've had our bedtime ritual of group hug and "bye-byes" for quite some time now and it is still awesome.
Likes to take stuff out and put them back in, like her crayons in a bag, or the sensory balls back in their pouch.
She discovered the Tupperware draw, where she takes them out, and I guess if I waited long enough she'd put them back in :).
We had to install a latch on kitchen garbage can. She was enjoying throwing stuff out that shouldn't be.
Penny graduated to a new car seat and stroller, no more infant seat or Snap and Go.
She had her first "don't want to go in the stroller" tantrum.
She is so smart - How did she know the eye mask from the Air France pouch goes on her eyes? We are amazed at the things she knows and I can't imagine where she's picked them up from.
She climbs up on couch by herself and luckily is pretty successful at getting down as well.
Mommy taught her learning how to use a zipper.
Daddy taught her how to cheers with her bottle.
She now gives high-fives all casual like. Doesn't even need to look at your hand :).
Dada also thought her to blow her nose, and she's really good at it. Helps with boogie season.
She knows certain songs when they come on Pandora (All of the Raindrops) and sings along ("a-a-a-a, a-a-a-a-a"). She Moos when she hears Old MacDonald.
I sometimes catch her humming softly too. So very sweet
Penelope and I had our first negotiation… lay down (to get diaper changed) and I'll give you the lotion bottle. It worked.
Penny loves to color. She'll go over to the basket where we keep the crayons and the matt I place on the floor under us and reach for it and "uh uh uh uh" (that's her way of telling me she wants to color, ' well obviously, Mommy!'). She also loves her stickers.
A funny story: The other day I bent over to pick something up and who's little fingers did I feel trying to sneak down the back of my pants, accompanied by a big big giggle? Hint: they weren't Daddy's but he definitely taught her. She is one funny kiddo… and knows it!
Happy 17 months big girl, we love you and being part of all your new experiences and adventures. xoxo.
