Boo Boo Band-Aid(s)
One of them covers a boo boo. Penny cut her foot at daycare on Wednesday while pushing around the kiddie chairs as she often likes to do. The skin got rubbed off and we know how that can hurt. So when we got home we put on some Me-um band-aids courtesy of Aunt J. One on the boo boo and one on her wrist, just to balance her out. The boo boo is healing but she does get upset when she sees or touches it. Our solution - socks :).
You can also tell is was a hot day by us. Made for a sweaty sweetie.

Celebrating Kian's First Birthday
Melissa and Jordan's son Kian's first birthday was May 9th, and we were invited over the next day to help with the celebration. We shared cupcakes and the kids played with finger paints (Penny's first time). It was a beautiful day so we spent most of it in their backyard.

The finger painting started on the paper:

And then moved to the belly:

The final masterpiece. I didn't get a completed belly shot :).[/caption]
Then Miss Penelope "helped" Kian open his gift.

We were so happy to help celebrate this big milestone. Happy First Birthday Kian!

The Mimi's First Playdate
The Friday before we left for Europe, Penny and I were invited over for a playdate with Macin. It was their first official “out of daycare” play date and we all had a wonderful time. There was sandbox playing, car driving, dancing and piano playing, strawberries and Spongebob, granola-bar sharing, plus a yummy dinner that us mommies and kiddies sat down for and shared. We are looking forward to a summer of play dates (with the addition of a beautiful baby sister for Macin… coming soon!). Thank you Saie, Sal and Macin, for being such gracious hosts!

Follow Up Doctor's Appointment
(belated post from May 8)
[caption id="attachment_6461" align="alignnone" width="480"]
I didn't take any pics at the appointment so here is a random silly one of her playing with a travel kit from Air France.[/caption]
Penny had a doctor's appointment on Thursday. I thought it was a shot appointment but to my (and Penny's) pleasant surprise - no shots.
Her height is 33.5 inches and weight is 25 pounds 15 ounces. Up from her 18 month wellness check-up on March 6 where she was 32 inches and 24 lbs 4 oz.
She's still not a fan of that darn scale and getting measured so her numbers could be slightly off - we had to be quite quick about it.
She was great with Dr. Fukuda and let her listen to her chest and back and look into her ears… until the wax remover thingy came out and then it was down hill. I know that hurts her and I am always hesitant to let the doctor use it but I know its important for her to see into those little ear canals and thankfully they looked all clear. Good news for the impending long-haul flight we had coming up to Europe.
